Anyone swinging by ECAM to visit Joe Vigorita won't be able to check out the old "Standard Press Steel" rod bolts distributed by Mr. Gasket, as the dust has been knocked off and its laying on the floor in Plowman's garage.
Don't know when Precision Cast Parts bought SPS, but I suspect that it was before these were made. I bet I've starred at these bolts for 20+ years whenever I would stop by. Love the local tie in. Hey Dave, are the bolts back then any better or worse than what you are cranking out now?

The bolts were way better then then now! SPS was sold right after the company hit 100 years...2003 was the 100th. 2005 or 2006 was when they came aboard. Been unhappy ever since! The bolts are soo cool to see out in the market. I forgot they were sold by MR Gasket. We still make the Carrillo Racing bolts for Indy cars and Nascar and so on. I was offered a set of Carrillo rods from them and never got around to picking them up. I have lots of stickers from them if anyone wants some!! Dave 67 Nova Boy
