Once everything was lined up I fabbed up an equalizer pipe. I needed to notch it so it would clear the transmission crossmember and allow the trans to come out without having to remove the crossover pipe. Worked out swimmingly!!

I sprayed everything with high temp aluminum to prevent the flash rust and to get a cleaner look. The mufflers are Jaguar XKE. How will they sound? Beats me! we'll find out soon enough.

More to come....

Cheers

My 3D printed grilles will have to do for now while I wait for the front surrounds and and side grilles to be finished. The shop is backed up so it might be a while, so might as well throw these in! They don't look half bad for being plastic.

Hood is on and latches are adjusted. Smooth as silk. I need to permanently install the hood release handle bracket next to the parking brake lever next.

More to come.... again!!

Cheers

Thanks, Bruce! You too, Dave!

The wiring is all connected up front: lights, fans, horns and I’ll be working my way backwards shortly. It’s getting EEERILY close to having power connected!

Although not conclusive, my punch list is getting shorter and shorter: A-Pillar trim/visors/top latch/door glass weather strip channel/rearview mirror, Interior door panels, Heater ducting and controls, Top (both hard and soft), trunk and hood rain gutters, Emergency brake cables, Dash wiring, Tail lights, final dash wiring.

I drop the seats off at the upholstery shop next week and they’ll do a quick modification to the seat base foam and covers for me. I’ll talk to them about the rest of the interior as well for when the time comes.

More to come…..

Cheers
Dave

I just read this: "Although not conclusive, my punch list is getting shorter and shorter: A-Pillar trim/visors/top latch/door glass weather strip channel/rearview mirror, Interior door panels, Heater ducting and controls, Top (both hard and soft), trunk and hood rain gutters, Emergency brake cables, Dash wiring, Tail lights, final dash wiring."

I need to go take a nap.

Now that’s funny, Lynn. Working on the heater controls the next few days. Should be a fun contraption to make! This car would be done already if I didn’t make everything functional! But the again if I didn’t do that I couldn’t be called Super Dave.

Cheers

The article I penned for the BMW Classic Car Club was just published for the quarterly magazine and I thought I’d share it. Dirk, the president, wants three articles and this is the first. Hopefully you enjoy the read! Let me know if you can ready the pages after loading the full sized photos and I’ll post small pictures,

Cheers
Dave
