How many 1963 Z11 Impalas are missing? Wasn't one stolen many years ago and never recovered?

I met a guy years ago that had a complete Z-11 engine on the stand in the back of an old shed. He said he bought the whole car back in the early 70's, but only wanted the 427. He pulled the motor, sold the rest and never heard anymore about it. Said the car was silver or light blue and came from back west somewhere. I don't know how much truth there is to the story, but the engine was definitely real. |

I have spoken with one of the guys that was involved in the merolis stolen cars, they ripped off 2 of them, stripped the motors and dumped the cars, all they wanted was the alluminum motors, they both went into drag boats
