Chick, if I'm planning to visit San Diego again, what's the best time of year to come? Last year I was there during "June Gloom" and I'd rather not visit at that time or "May Haze." Thanks.

Not sure what your plans are, but the summer months (June, July, August) are pretty "touristy" here, so the population will be elevated. I'm sure hotel/rental rates will be up, as well. Spring months bring the kids of course. I've always liked the beach suburbs (Solana Beach, Cardiff, La Jolla, Del Mar, Carlsbad) which are all within 30mins of downtown SD. Being small towns on the water, parking can be tough to find though. There's good sea food, and you're close to a lot of events that may be going on. If you don't mind driving north 45-50mins, Dana Point, Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach are nice places, but expect the beaches to be loaded on the weekends. Check this website for car stuff going on in SoCal http://socalcarculture.com/ Sorry about the tardy response. I don't seem to get notifications from the site anymore. Thanks Chick. It'll prob be next year before we can get out there, but I'll save this page; appreciate the information, and the pictures as always.
