. [/ QUOTE ] Hey, is that a partial fingerprint on the caulking in the left hand data plate rivet? I think there are enough points of comparison that we can get a match to some UAW member from the early 1970's. Of course, that is in the completely unlikely event that he had a criminal record. ![]() |

-------I can see it now!!! Hundreds if not thousands of 1970 Camaro owners buying an extra dill cap to stick to their frame rail in an attempt to make their restorations "correct"..........Bill S [/ QUOTE ] but 1st they have to spray tar all over the underside of their cars ... restoration costs plummet because no one has to spend $$$ to plate and finish the underside of the car, street repair crews & roofing contractors are mugged for their tar applicators, a black market (get it?) arises and the correct "Dill" caps are reproduced in China and sold as NOS on ebay pictured next to a "real" GM box but the ad says you can't have the box by a certain seller ... ![]()

paceme, Jim R also follows the ORIGINAL forum at www.nastyz28.com. I'm thinking he isn't a big fan of the trailer queen cars, Carlisle judging, and anal judges like me. Judged shows and judged cars arent for everybody....... FYI, Jim R recently did a personal favor for me in Phoenix. I'm publically acknowledging him, as I do appreciate his act of friendship..... [/ QUOTE ] Chuck, I enjoy the cars that have been taken to "anal" levels and certainly appreciate those, yourself included, that actually TRY to document & judge "the way they were". "Trailer queens" are beautiful works of art. I respect and painfully appreciate the sacrifice that has occurred to get them to those levels. I appreciate them as much as the time capsules that are not "perfect" and as much as the barn finds that have been used to within an ounce of their life, they all are exciting to look at and read about. "Making light" of the way that the GM line workers assembled cars in hap hazard methods 30+ years ago is a release from the sometimes all too serious outlook we all are guilty of with this old car passion. No disrespect is meant to those that have those beautiful cars, we ALL enjoy them. ![]()
