Congrats Frank that you feel that way and you will be a legend in your home town.
I have been saying this for years: These ARE the Duesenberg's, Edsel's,Etc of are time.
Talked to a very Big judge at Meadowbrook and I said this to him( wont say is age)and he said he has two Duesenbergs and just BOUGHT a Hemi Challenger. WOW
I like the guys`who own one of these rare cars and seems pissed at the prices and stands up to tell everybody he is going to DRIVE his car.COOL

[ QUOTE ]
This is all so friggin goofy. A MILLION for a muscle car??? I still don't care. One day in 20 years when my Deuce is worth a half million because Yenko Camaros are bringing two million. I will still drive in bumper to bumper traffic in the ghetto like I did this afternoon and still beat the piss out of it at SCR27. This is what they were meant to do.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not to sound like a jerk or anything, but it's easy to say that when you didn't pay the half million for the car. If you paid what the car was worth, would you really be driving it that often? Especially if it was your life's savings you had invested in the car because you always wanted one! I love to see the guys who bought the rare, high performance cars back in the late 60's and early 70's driving and racing them. But, the car isn't worth the current market value to them if they never plan on selling. Take Eddie and his ZL1 for example. Let's say he bought it for $15K back when he saw the ad for sale. Today the car is probably worth $400-600K but to him it's still only worth $15K because that's what he paid for it and he never plans to sell it. So buying a car at a low price and driving it doesn't compare to buying a car at current market price and driving it. D@m, that was a long winded reply I just gave. Anyway, I've been waiting for the ZL1's to reach the $1 million mark since they will kick a hemi's butt on the track anyway!

I all so like the un-restored car's. Are there any un-restored Hemicuda Convertibles left?

I will stick my neck out yet again for you guys to chop it off. I would rather own one of the few original engine Zl-1 camaro's than any HEMI cuda Convertible. And before you guys tee off on me I own a couple of HEMIs and really appreciate them. But an aluminum ZL-1 stuffed into a little camaro is the ultimate expression of a muscle car today and forever IMHO.

OK you can commence the flaming now about how HEMI cuda convertibles are 2 or 3 million but an aluminum big block chevy in that pony car it's the ultimate. It's like Robert Duvall's quote in apocalypse now regarding naplam in the morning. "it just smells like victory"

I'm with you. I'd rather have an aluminum 427 Camaro over any hemi. I still don't understand why the Hemi Cuda conv goes for $3 mil plus. But everyone has their preference and that's what makes the musclecar market what it is!
