I look forward to learning more of the history of the 67 cars. Thankfully the first owner is around to share and help preserve the history on 760.

I would assume when the original owner ordered the car with Doug headers...that there was an increased amount of power. The paperwork shows a set of the headers...we all understand the power pickup when you run thru the headers and not the mufflers...on my Rally Green Copo that we race regularly...we picked up 4 tenths at the track by going thru the headers.

I had the same questions as Steve. Thought it would have been a Yenko "410" car because the original 396/325 hp automatic cars were built that way. If they would have done the 427/425 hp short block, then they would have probably needed to upgrade the TH400 and/or at least the torque converter. I don't know of any cars this late that were originally 325 hp cars that were converted to 450. They may exist, but I have never heard on any.

It is the lower end or "tamer" version - but that is in NO WAY said with any disrespect. They still had more horsepower than an original L78. Any 67 Yenko is a rare find and you have a real gem there. Congrats!

I spoke to John the original owner this morning...he said during the conversion that Yenko went from the 396/325 camshaft to the 427/390 camshaft...that itself gave it .060 additional lift... then add the Doug headers....those 2 items by far surpasses the 410 HP . It helps to have the original owner to confirm info.
This car is an 06E build. And was the last 67 Camaro at the Yenko dealership .
John recalls Yenko ads offering the 427 Camaros. He went with his father in early March of 68 to purchase the car and waited 12 days for the conversion.

What was converted that late? It was already a 427 conversion.

Here's an Oct '67 Newspaper Ad as OO statement above also jives exactly w/ info noted earlier about cars waiting unconverted for later builds w/ 396 or 427's to suit customer orders.
Being the 06/67 build subject car sold 03/68, it and the Blue TurboStick in this 10/67 Newspaper Ad could be one and the same?

Yenko used some creative names for the TH400 1967 Yenko Camaros

in this ad it was a "Turbo-Stick"

in another ad "Yenko Special "Super GT Hydro" "

in another ad "Turbo Hydra-matic Transmission"

Doug ,
Does your car have the 1967 type mono leaf rear springs or 1968 muti leaf type rear springs ?

The paperwork shows a spring change and charge for new springs.
