The Eldon Palmer 1971 Indy Pace Car (yes, it lives!) was also on display, along with several other real Indy Pace Cars that actually paced the race, not just replica versions sold to the public. We spent a lot of time with Gary from Level One Restorations at this spectacular Indy 500 Pace Car Exhibit.

I think the Charlotte Pace Car Camaro was my favorite though.

A couple big boats! The 1967 Pontiac 2+2 4-speed was outstanding, the Buick was breathtaking. Another one of those cars that you can't simply open up a catalog and order repro parts for, the chrome work just for the front grille and bumpers must have cost more than some of the cars at the event! Those are real wire baskets too.

Was an amazing show! I typically don't like car shows (as they bore me to death) this one I would try to do again though. Had a great time meeting and talking to some great people. Didn't take many pics as I knew there would be many taken by others. Did get surprised Sunday when Apex Autosports picked my Runner for a sponsor pic! Thanks Apex!
I think the sexiest car there was the black Cougar Eliminator. Man that car was superb!

A beautiful black Cougar, and then a blue XR-7 convertible 428CJ 4-speed from the Styles Collection (the red one next to it is also theirs). The blue XR-7 was tagged as a "Test Car" on the Marti Report.

Our friend Tim Dye from the Pontiac Museum brought out ex-Pontiac Engineer Tom Goad's 1973 Grand Am Wagon, a special one-off that Tom had built for him (it was nice being in the Pontiac Engineering Department in the 60's and 70's), and the invoice shows the car was billed to Tom, not to a dealer. Only the second such invoice we've ever found like that. The car was built as a loaded 1973 LeMans station wagon, then Pontiac Engineering converted it to the Grand Am nose, they added the 1973 Ram Air setup (1 of only 5 known to exist, and Tom Goad owns 2 of the 5 known Ram Air setups), and they added a powered sunroof, another option never available on the wagons. A truly unique car, it was proposed to Pontiac, and thus became a prototype.

That 1973 GTO was really sharp, especially with the greenish stripe.

I also dug the 1965 Belvedere I 426-S sedan, the Adriatic Blue Trans Am, and the 1-of-3 black Eliminator.

1 of 3 black Eliminators. Owner has two of 'em, the other being a Boss 302.

We are very lucky to own the Black 428 SCJ Eliminator, we are starting the Restoration of the Black Boss 302 Eliminator (the only known Black Boss 302 Car Ford ever made) we will start the restoration of this car Jan 1st with assistance from Kerry Wortman (ford 428 and boss 302 industry expert), Dave W. (owner of the Eliminator registry) Kevin Marti, Scott Fuller, Don Rush (West Coast Cougar Classics) and Frank Bowers, who has owned 17 Boss Eliminators and started the Eliminator Registry. The Black Boss Eliminator will be built to absolute concours specification with a full team of experts consulting on the build ....... its an amazing car, mostly original paint, 2 full build sheets, and full inspection by Kevin Marti at his facility in Arizona. I cant wait to get started on this project and debut it at the 2015 Muscle Car Nationals The car will be built by the experts a Mascar Auto in Costa Mesa Ca.
