I thought the original plugs had four equal width bands around them? John

I'm not up on 70's enough but I see no reason why Norman would have changed them. He never even changed the oil.

Yes I squirted oil in all the cylinders. I took pics trying to see where the paint on the plugs could have come from.

make sure NONE of you "over restore" your car by doing a GOOD paint job, you will lose valuable judging points IF your car has paint evenly applied everywhere ...

------Charlie,,,I was going to try to paraphrase what I have heard John H say about prep done to these engines prior to painting in relation to the spark-plugs, but I dont think I would say it right. Ill alert him to this thread and see if he can shed some light.......Bill S
