Looks like the bubble has popped a bit to me. Some of those Vettes seem very cheap to me.

With a no reserve auction you get what your car is worth to the purchaser so long as you have 2 real buyers if 1 falls short the second bidder gets a bargain

Some people are going to get some really nice cars this year for less than the cost of the restoration.

Yup, there look to be some good deals this year. It's tough to really judge without being there and seeing the cars and the documentation in person. But good buys this year might lead to higher prices again next year. I think last year was an anomoly because you had a couple of serious people looking to build museum collections and that artificially inflated the prices. This year seems more realistic of what to expect.

Agree some people have got some real nice cars so far for less than restoration costs. Honestly it really seems like a unique crowd bidding.Looking more for big HP in drivers that they can have fun with. No offense to those with customs and yes it is not the same as being there but when you see a 69 original 6 cylinder camaro custom going for 182K and you could not pull more than 90 out of a 67 tri power vet. There was one vet in particular I would have cryed if I was the owner.
We all watched basket case ls-6 chevelles sell that needed every panel replaced on e-bay for 50 plus after the last auction now a No. 2 cannot bring 80 and he did say they had papers but what does that mean today. Take a 318 dodge conv however and throw a hemi in it and 100K plus is right there. You never know. |

A good example is the 67 Camaro with the really low vin #. I think it sold for over 40K. It was a so so resto, caution fan sticker, LA car with the restamped block that they stamped a N as if it was a Norwood car. 40K was about 20K too high in my mind.

I think that the R&S auction drags alot of the muscle car buyers to their event. they are primarily muscle cars. I look at the cars they have, and i think i would be there also.
