I think rick just likes to be a devil's advocate.

When you guys go out for a drive if someone starts a different conversation do you change directions and find yourself lost???

I've got my own Z project but I know a few people looking for one so I look for them. I want to know why this car with wrong tranny, wrong aternator, no paperwork and few other things that escape me is going for $50K??

I have seen one picture and a write up that caused me temporary blindness and would like to see more. Please?

See I asked nicely.

Rick H.

Well it's not mine anymore but I imagine a legitimate offer would buy it...then you could spend the 1000+ on the alternator and make it better...and if you have one laying around you are ahead of the game ...if your car comes out as nice or nicer I would imagine it would be just as valuable...you may have more in it than that when you are done...paperwork is hard to come by for a car....if you are a paperwork guy then I guess this car isn't for you...if you are trying to figure out what yours will be worth when you complete it then I think you just have to wait and complete it...you should go see it with your people. Pictures don't even do the car justice. Don't we all wish we could buy cars for last years prices ? Better yet...5 years ago !

Well said Bob. If you're not a genuine prospect to buy a car, it doesn't seem right to criticize the owner for pricing their car the way they want. Just my $.02

Who said I am not genuine? I have people interested in this type of car. Nature of my business. They ask questions, I ask questions. Very simple I believe.

But, you have never questioned anyone, right?

Time to move on!

Rick,
I am happy for you that you have a '70 Z28. What makes mine worth the money to me it that if I don't get what I want for it or the market falls apart, I'll keep it and drive the *%^$ out of it.

The car is real, but has no paperwork and based on the info I have, prior owners have spent almost $40,000.00 in parts, many NOS and not including labor. Since it is now "my" car I reserve the right as to who may or may not purchase it.

Your opinion has been noted, but don't fret as you can not have it at any price. Go find another one. The M40 one on ebay is less.

Stefano,
In less than 3 days, with over 1400 looks...this thread has sure become radioactive. I, again, apologize if my post played any part in poisoning the well. I've never seen the car, but present and previous ownership speaks volumes in my book.

I don't think the well is poisoned LV....people are just real critical ...if you look at this car you can see it's one of the good ones...I'm sure if Rick's people went to look at it they would agree...there are other restored 70's that sold n the general price range...then there are some that sold much cheaper but I'm sure they don't compare.Just looking at the cost of good parts for these now will give you some idea....I'm sure if someone made Steve a reasonable offer they would come to an agreement. I have never bought a car where the owner started out high and wheeled & dealed the car higher..yet! Knowing me I probably will someday

I am not here to get into a pi$$ing contest with anyone. Obviously I struck a nerve by the personal jab he gave me stating that I can not buy the car but I can not convince anyone to go look at a car at $50K without getting some answers first.

If you want to lose a sale because you think I am being over aggressive so be it. I wish all the luck selling it.

Rick H.

P.S. I never said the car was not real.

Your multiple jabs at the asking price were what caused these reactions. If you were a sincere potential buyer, maybe a private message to the seller would have worked better. To answer your question about ME, I never blast people over their asking price in a public forum.
