Thanks to James(firstgenaddict) for riding with with me yesterday. We used to cruise around in the car 20 years ago and was a trip down memory lane. I'm going to fess up to 27K
I was walking @ 26K and he offered to flip for the other $1000 and I lost thus the 27K figure. I don't mind disclosing this because it's NOT FOR SALE!!! how about some input good or bad. thanks for the input. This proves these cars are still out there. This car has not been driven 200 miles in 15 years!!

Nice looking Z/28, that is doing what they were built to do, run on the road. This is a very attactive car, a great color, and the cost is right in the acceptable range. Heck, a restored plain jane first gen is now going for that price. Ten years from now, you will look back and never second guess yourself. Just build up a 302 motor now, while you can still find them at a reasonable price. There are real MO motors out there, or CE blocks. Who knows, maybe the orginal block is still waiting to be found.

I would get with the original owner ASAP. See if he can locate ANY type of documentation. While build sheet POP etc would be great, it can't hurt if he has some early pics, old inspection receipts, old insurance papers, etc.. Every little thing will help, especially with a 68.

Because you know the history, and you know it is a Z/28, I don't think the price is out of line. Does it still have the original tire decal in the glove box? I believe only the Z came with 15" tires in 68.

Congrats.

Lynn

Years ago I bought a 67 with a 427 engine that the owner told me was dealer installed.I was able to locate the original owner and asked if he had any old pictures. He had several pictures of the car with the dealer paper plates and a couple of the engine with the 427 decals. The pictures were taken on the day he got the car, were poloroids and had the date code on the back. Never hurts to ask.

I hope I did not offend anybody by giving a low estimate. After looking at these pictures, this looks to be a very nice car and I hope you enjoy it. I am still a firm believer that there are times when its appropriate to pay a little too much for the right car because over time it always works out.
