Default Re: Help on '67 Camaro VIN

[ QUOTE ]
UPDATE: I called the state police and asked them about the VIN. They said that the VIN on the door is good and clear but the original VIN is not found in the western states. I then read on the internet that the FBI keeps track of all stolen vehicle VINs. I called them and they said since I was a private person that they couldn't tell me anything. I told him that I think my car may be stolen because there are multiple VINs on and after telling me that it is a felony if the car is crossing a state line, he said that I can call my local FBI office. So I did that, again that FBI office said there wasn't anything that they could do other than call my local police.

What the H&LL, you can't even turn yourself in around here. Anyway, I am going to call my local licensing office and see if they can trace the VIN. Other than that I don't know what to do.

The FBI is not the agency to contact. Check and see if there is an auto theft task force in your state, or contact a large police agency that might have an auto theft investigator. Ask them to contact NICB with the hidden VIN and they will find out where/when the car was stolen from. (1969)
