Good one Rick!

That car had manual steering and a Rim-Blow steering wheel....when Marilee would drive it, low speed turns or parking maneuvers were always a laugh riot, as she would be constantly honking the horn while trying to wrestle the wheel

Here are a few pictures of the car as I purchased it in March 1980. Note the 15x10 slotted aluminum rear wheels and L60-15 tires.....musta been the hot setup on 70 Challengers.

Sam, the Hemi had some nuances that I was unfamiliar with, but once I got it all sorted out it ran really strong. It had the 4 speed and the Super Track Pac (4.10 Dana and power disc brakes) but I rebuilt it as totally stock/original. By current standards it would need to be completely re-restored to be top notch, but in 1987 when I finished the resto, it was darn nice.

This car was the original owner's daily driver for 5 years. He worked midnight shift at the local Caterpillar Tractor assembly plant in our area, and he would go by the Union 76 gas station that all my friends and I would hang out at most every night, on his way to work. It was the only Hemi car I ever knew of in our area. In 1975 with 64,000 miles on it, he pulled the engine out for a refreshing, and for many and varied reasons it never got any further. I also worked at the same Caterpillar plant, and in 1980 when I heard he was going to sell it, I jumped on it.
