Ed, have your guy get a nice pic of the TT - that body number can only be one # per my calculations. If its not - then its trouble! There were only 2 Gobi Beige 4speeds with p/s, and the other one is alive &amp; well (but its painted black, with stripes done in silver - sounds like a cross between schoneye and cumby.... hmmm.... that didn't come out right! I've seen that done before, but in this case, it looks like beige underneath to me. I guess we'll know tomorrow.

The Deuces came with a BB crossmember, not sure why but we think its a carryover from the '69 COPO 9737 which was BB based. The '70 Deuces all have AM Radios w/ windshield antenna's, I think even the FM cars got 'em - but got ground straps. Can't tell if the speedo unit is from '72 or just the bezel.</div></div>

Isn't the white lettering on the cluster and radio dial a dead give-away that the entire cluster has been changed to a '72? Even the radio knobs are 71-72.

If they used a big block crossmember would the transmission sit crooked in the car since the engine wasn't offset, or did the car use the big block frame stands?

This car has none of it's original drive train including the trans and rear. Still a great project for someone.

Tom - what do you base your statement on? Have you seen the rear or photos of the stamping?

Thanks

I have not seen photos of the stampings but know someone who has inspected the car. This is second hand info but I have no reason not to believe him. Of course, for those who are interested, inspect it for yourself.

The green lettering in a '70 commonly appears white due to camera flash, so we can't immediately jump to your conclusion.

The BB xmember simply kicks the tail of the trans a 1/2 inch to the right, makes installing the bolts a little challenging but otherwise you just muscle it over.
