I had the pleasure to spend some time with a REAL '64 Hemi lightweight survivor a few years ago and those cars are amazing! The '64 Hemi cars even had lightweight aluminum doors that are just insanely light when you open and shut them. These cars are extremely fragile and were only intended to last a season or two and the fact that ANY of them survive 45 years later is simply incredible! Tears in the aluminum are common and elbow dents in the tops of the fenders from even changing spark plugs is to be expected. As neat as these aluminum front end cars are, like these early Hemi's, Z-11 Impalas, and Super Duty Catalinas, they really have to be nerve-racking and frustating to actually own!

I'm ashamed to say I came home with a TOTAL of 45 pix (including Monmouth & LaHarpe), ..................... and even though I was under the car four or five times I never had the camera with me.
![]() Let's hope Brian can post some pix because as Rob said, this thing has a crazy exhaust system. I do have a few interior shots I'll get to later this evening but Brian really needs to chime in and tell the story of this car. Trust me; it's ONE SPECIAL PIECE! We all tried to put some pressure on him to bring it to Rosemont in November, .................... ![]() ![]()
