I have heard that second hand from someone who goes to a lot of the Western auctions that most of the cars come from PA. I guess it's the German heritage of being craftsman NAW!

GTODON you're just who I need. The ZL-1 I am involved with was in Philly 1969-1974, owned by Joe Gastony. It was silver with a black B-M type stripe, sold off the used car lot at Hauser Chev. I have spoken to Joe and would like to know where it went after him. Know anything?

hi to all-- i just found a diamond car-a 1969 rs z28 crossram-with 2859 miles 1 owner --now 2--the car has been outside for 25 years and some of the parts are gone-but it has its born with block trans rear and more -i just came back from a 3 hr sit down with the org. owner and taped our conversation-when he bought the car the crossram was in the trunk but he did not have enough money to pay for the option.so the dealer took off the amount for the crossram and sold him the car with no crossram-my question is does anyone have a old picture of how they were in the trunk-- i am restoring the car to 100%-- and i want to put the crossram in the trunk like factory--and how many were made 69 rs silver black stripe red interior crossram z.the owner found his registration cards a bunch of pictures when it was new and a speeding ticket from 1970 and more--thanks for any help- [/ QUOTE ] By the way, did the guy know you were taping him and give his consent? Otherwise, you just committed a felony. PA is a 2-party consensual monitoring state. Unless you are a law enforcement officer, and conducting an investigation, you cannot record another person's conversation (in PA) without their permission. ![]() |

yea 2859 miles -a- title- 1 owner- i did not know it was a crossram car until i sat with him-- he paid cash-he lives in downtown phildelphia-he showed me where the car sat when it was new-then the photos came out- 3 weeks old it got aluminum slots and went street racing on front street in phila.-- 5 years ago at maple grove speedway swap meet i found a dz 302 still together but rusted and it had the oe. oil filter i started talking to him and we became friends. he told me he still knows where the car is and give him a call-- well 5 years later i get the car-- the trans was inside the car -the rear is still new and was still in the car -jon the org owner gave bill the swap meet guy the title and bill trallered the car up to me -so yesterday i finally got to meet the owner-i said can i tape this no problem he said -so i started out i am here with jon t who bought this 69 camaro silver black stripe red interior flat hood--and he said yes yes--no that had a cowl hood with them 302 emblems-i said are you sure- and then the pictures came out -- well the hood it gone-(they are looking for it this weekend bill and jon may still know where it is )and all i know is there is no hole for the cowl induction wireing so i thought it was a flat hood --than jon said the crossram i could not afford the crossram and they kept it--i just about fell over--there is hours of the story and it is so cool--i just wonder how was a crossram ordered-how it came--see this car never had it installed--jon said it was in the trunk---- and jon is not a real car guy,in phily.there was fast cars street racing but there was no garages and they cared about there cars but not like today-now the car is 90% done every nut and bolt with all the factory overspray-like new- any help on this crossram would be great thanks [/ QUOTE ] according to this post he did...it's about half-way through the paragraph...

ay ay ay...you guys are brutal....give the guy a chance...I was born in Philly myself and have scrounged around that area myself for years...there are still a few cars out there..believe me...but, 99.9% are in a garage or you cannot see from the road...I am a Land Surveyor, so often I get to go into peoples back yards where you cant see the cars from the road...I also peek into garage windows too when I am working...believe me, if you can see it from the road, atleast 1000 people have knocked already...but there are a few still hidden away...
As far as 2000 original miles not meaning a thing ... whether this car exists or not is irrevelant...I would sure rather have a 2000 mile ex-racer than a 200k mile ex-racer...It sure means something to me... And the x-ram story...who knows...but when I spoke to the original owners brother of my JL-8 car, he explained that when he and his brother went to buy the car, they had 2 Z-28s on the lot...one with a x-ram in the trunk..and the JL-8 car that his brother ended up buying...They decided to buy the JL-8 car because they went right out and bought an aftermarket x-ram and installed it on the car much cheaper than the dealer mark-up for the x-ram option...I really believe his story because when I bought the car from the 4th or 5th owner(cant remember) he offered me an old aftermarket x-ram intake and carbs for an extra fee that he said he got with the car when he bought it ...The sellers story all came together a few months later when I got in touch with the original owners brother.. Remember that if this story is true, the original owner is going from memory only...the original owner of my low mile 67 Z ex-racer told me a ton of stories..some are probably not totally exact, but the main idea of our conversation is probably close to reality...(and yes, I already did post pics...my car does exist..hehehe)..and I too videotaped our conversation (with his permission of course) at this point if I were the current owner of this car (assuming this story is true), I would not even return to this website based on the treatment he has recieved...I am a skeptic myself..but this story sounds a lot more reasonable than the floating hemis or the ZL-1 motor in the dually...as I said about that story...time will tell the truth..lets wait a while longer and see... just my .02 |
