Hi Steve,
I loved the photo coverage of that event from you. Thank you!
As for your idea of the "secret handshake" or something similar, it's a great idea. Any member of this site who has a car at a show would certainly like to meet another member. Our JLG club had 2" transfer decals made that fit perfectly on a vent window. If the SYC site had something like that available, I'm sure everyone would proudly put one on their cars.

Maybe next year I'll have a blue '62 up there to join the Joisey boys.

Verne - your dating yourself with your comment about vent windows . Not all of us have those. They went out in 1968!

P.S. Most excellent idea oh sage-one.

Steve,
The picture you took of the Danube Blue Chevelle that won Best Chevrolet is Mike Crowns 1966 SS396 Chevelle.
Congratulations to Mike and well deserved.
Thanks for the great pictures Steve!

Yeah Sam, I kinda thought of that when I posted. I know most of you guys have those "modern" cars with the big heavy window glass that never seals right.
But then, with those big MKIVs who would ever hear any wind noise anyway...

Steve,
I hate to turn this into a "wanted" ad, but I'm drooling over those lugnuts. The original M/Ts I have on my black car and the 15" E-Ts that were on the blue '62 all need those short depth 7/16-20 lugs. (all RH of course). PLEASE contact me through a PM or email if you have any more. I hate the looks of the new ones on those old wheels.

By the way, you didn't mention which car won Best Dodge................

Verne

Hey Verne, The only lugnuts I found were the obscure ones for my wheels. I have some extras of the left hand version but no more "righties."

And as for the Best Dodge, I guess that would be my car. Just being shy, I guess...

I wish I had spent the extra $20 and run her down the strip. But it seemed that one out of every 5 cars was breaking at the end of the run and delaying it for everyone else. (I didnt want to be one of the other cars sitting in the staging lanes for hours on end, waiting for the cleanup crew)

So I guess my first gear burnout and powershift into second coming up to the judges' stand will have to do for the moment. It was worth it just seeing the judges' eyeballs get really large as I rapidly approached with the tach around 7,000 rpm.

Congrats Steve. I kinda had a hunch about the "Best Dodge".
Here's a link to Hemming's site with a nice video that shows a familiar red Charger.....

My thoughts exactly! Great work. Send me your address Steve!

I won't even attempt to pick a favorite, but I gotta say that Grecian Green '68 Chevelle is stunning! ('Course, I'm a little partial to '68s since I owned a Seafrost Green version.)

We all know Al's car is perfection and I've seen Recupero's Red Ride before, another great example. The '62 409 cars, the Hemi cars, the '66 L72 and Wilma's Butternut '68........... WOW; what a gathering.

Mike on the track??????????? I gotta see this!

I wondered what that guy was doing. I thought he was just walking around talking to himself. Never saw the camera.
