That black Bel Air is the car I think about when I need to close my eyes and imagine myself in a happy place.

Very nice bubble! Takes me back to when I was about 13 or so. My Uncle and his good friend were building 62-63 Impala SS 409 cars in the mid 80's. That was my first real car ride! We went out (4 of us in the car) and they were 'easy' on the motor. Stepping through each stage of the dual carb setup and the nose appeared to be rising to the sun. I think the imprint of my back is still in the back seat! I have always appreciated what these cars are and what they represent. Congrats on a beautiful piece of history. And since no one has asked yet....

Bob, I think I'm still a kid, just buying different kinds of parts and cars other than Corvettes. I have the Corvettes I want. You knew my dad, and know he would have loved all this stuff! Chris

I just found out this week that the car was purchased new at Rampy Chevrolet in Ann Arbor Michigan. Any dealer memorabilia would be great! Anyone local remember this car from the drag strips? Thanks! Chris

Great car!! I love the color combo....wish I had one of everything with Black Exterior and Red interior. That's alot of car to get whoa'd down with a single master cylinder.

Awesome Garage as well!

Well, we went to the "garagemahal" today and saw the 409, I haven't seen it since Chris first got it and it looked good then. It went off for light cleaning and light buffing and it looks amazing now, just a fantastic original car. But what good is looking without a ride? It drove great, even with the skinny tires. We piled in the big car and hit the road. We could have driven it to California it was so smooth. The other cars looked great, haven't seen the '67 Z since Vettefest and it was a treat.

Chris, What a great car.I have had the pleasure of owning a 62 Bubbletop 409/409 car, but not as nice nor original as yours. I have a favor to ask. A good friend of mine has a 62 Bel Air 409/380 HP car. He has had a tough time locating the correct air cleaner base plate and correct carb. Any chance you could post a picture of the base and carb, or PM them to me? Would help greatly in the search, as many he has been offered have not been correct. Thanks, Marc
