You're right Whitetop, the domed air cleaner I showed as Stelling&Hellings, is probably a Mr.Gasket knockoff of S&H.-----S&H had their name on top of the dome---

Was there some that had square holes in the grid instead of round ones that were made later? I seem to remember seeing them way back then?

My '70 came with a triangle shaped air cleaner instead of the round one and it has the square holes. It also has the foam that will catch on fire if you have a backfire. ![]()

I remember those---and since Motion sold parts also, you could mix and match the parts, but the standard PhaseIII package started you off with a Dome air cleaner---I stuck with the Dome (Cal Custom)the car came with, it was up to the buyer.--- |

JoeG: Your investigative tenacity is impressive. I guess mine must have been the Mr. Gasket version. I have some old speed equip. catalogs too, and thought I remembered seeing a Stelling & Hellings pictured that did not have the emblem on it. Not completely sure. I'll have to dig around this weekend. Jughead: I apologize for my part in this thread going off in it's own direction. I know you're still looking for one to buy. Hopefully, since the thread has had a lot of traffic someone will be willing to part with one for you. Verne |

Jughead did you find an air cleaner or did this "HIGH TECH" discussion of dome air cleaners make you decide to sell the car---
