I guess my point was this.. BinLaden didnt get his money from Saddam... he had it already. Without the backing of the UN.. we are the agressors.I love my country but we are not following the rules either this time.

Not true, we are still following up on the resolutions from back in 90/91. He never disarmed like he was instructed to.

That is true Jeff, but... the UN has not endorsed the US to enforce the sanctions. Until they do, we are in the wrong too. Although we are the only true superpower left in the world, that does not make us the worldwide police. I think Saddam needs to be dealt with, I just dont want to turn the world against our country because we cant wait for backing from our allies. When in history have we attacked anyone without being attacked first? We cant hold Saddam accountable for BinLaden... think about it.

The UN has turned into a shallow entity that will not enforce it's own resolutions, if they were enforcing, or doing their job so to speak, we would not be a position to enforce 1441 on our own. What good is a international group of policy or rule makers who will not back up what they say? Saddam is making a mockery out of the whole UN process and has been for twelve years. If Iraq was in compliance from the begining there never would have been a 1441 resolution, that resolution came in the wake of previous non-compliance by Iraq from previous disarm resolutions. Saddam is very effective in what he is doing, creating the illusion of the belief that more time is the answer, all while his sole purpose is to sit back and divide the world politically and morally, which up until this point has been very effective. Someone has to take the inititive to stop this madman once and for all and put an end to the manipulation he has been using on the world and the UN. We are not the aggresor in this situation, it is Saddam's choice of war or no war, if he was doing what has been mandated by the UN we would not be in the position to have to use force to achieve what the UN has been mandating for 12 years. If you break the law in this country you would not consider the police as aggressor's when they come to arrest you for the crime you have commited. Saddam has broken international UN law repeatedly, by making him face the consequences to his actions is not an act of aggression, it is an act of common sense to protect all freedom loving nations in the world. If this man is allowed to go unchecked for any futher length of time all it will do is make him more secure in the fact that he does not have to follow the rules and that he can manipulate the entire world and the UN with his actions. We all have to follow are own and international laws, why should he not, especially considering the gravity of the consequences for the free world should he choose to use the weapons or more likely provide them to a terrorist organization so he doesnt have to get his hands dirty? There is a long history in this country of our ancestors fighting for the freedom we all enjoy, why should we stand aside and let this tyrant threaten us and the rest of the free world? We should not, and we will not, I am thankful that we have a government that has the guts to go against world opinion and rid the world of this idiot, when it is all said and done the rest of the world, including the people of Iraq, will be thankful to the US for taking out the trash. The most effective world leaders throughout history have been the ones who did not have popular opinion on their side when they were making tough choices to lead. I salute our military and troops for being out there making the world a safer place for us all to live.

The are a bunch of cartoon characters, they make there money playing fake people on a silver screen, big accomplishment. Does anybody besides me find it odd that after 9/11 we have had no idea of the whereabouts of Bin Laden, his second in command who was just arrested, Bin ladens sons who were purportedly arrested today, none of these people could be found let alone arrested, now we have some and it appears we have Bin Laden found and cornered. Is it odd that his loyal true to heart second in command terrorist who suddenly gets arrested co-operates so easily to give up Bin Ladens whereabouts? I find all this timing suspicous. Bin Laden made it clear he would go out a martyr against the US, the problem with that is he would not be around to watch the shock waves of his actions. What better way to be a Martyr then to get himself and his ranking command arrested and transported to the "Belly Of The Eagle", which would no doubt infuriate his terrorist organization combined with the Infidels invading Muslim territory and attacking a Muslim country, these combined actions would drive his organization over the edge to commit pre-planned terrorist attacks against our country with no regard for their own safety. What an interesting way to become a Martyr, at the same time causing his troops to rally together against the US, and allowing Bin Laden and his upper command to stand by in US custody and observe the fruits of his Martyr actions. It all seems to convenient that all it once they are being found and arrested at the same time as the beginning of the war. Considering the financial resources and the entire middle east willing to network hiding them all, it seems unreal we would have all that luck within a two week period. How would our military and the American popualtion act as a whole if our leader was to be arrested by a middle eastern faction and carried away to their country? That is how his terrorist group will feel over the arrest of him and his military leaders. Conspiracy theory? Maybe. Something these people could pull off with their state of mind towards the US and their military tactics? Certainly. Keep aware of your surroundings in the coming weeks and months.

A good thought Matt, But I could have sworn I heard the President say in his speach last night that when bin laden is found the will not be taken alive. Correct me if I'm wrong. (the kids were being quite noisy during the Pres's speach)

He stated he thought Bin Laden would not be taken alive from what they know of him, so if he is taken alive that may be a good indicator that this concept is not far off the mark. Either way dead or alive it will have the same effect on his crew, it would be like someone from another country assasinating our President.
