The Chevelle was actually my mom's car; dad ordered it so mom would have something to drive. But - he ordered it as a Police car so it would come with some extra goodies. 454, TH400, 3.42 posi, 8" Corvette rally wheels with Goodyear blue dot tires. Mom drove it four years and I got it when she was done with it.

I have been racing this same car for 35 years now. First pass (ever) was a 15.10 and it was going 14.90's by the end of the day. Over the course of three decades it's had about 7 different powerplants, the latest is a 555 cu in bow tie pro stock big block that is just shy of 1000 hp naturally aspirated. Best ET is 9.85 at 136 mph, but the car is legal to 10 flat. It wants to go 10.20's to 10.30's on any given Sunday. It's been run at a couple dozen facilities across the US, as far south as Florida and as far west as California. I followed the NMCA/NSCA series for nearly 15 years resulting in top ten finishes ever year, including two third place series finishes and two series Championship runner up placements.

No credit to me..... I had a lot of leads, many from here. Some even from people I have had some disagreements with in the past even provided a lead or two.

And of course, Ron's son Jason and his wife really made that reveal a reality.

Oh, and of course, of course ( ) the guys at the Camaro Nationals. I thought it was really cool that they would allow Ron to drive the car around the fairgrounds. They helped us "hide" the car by the NastyZ tent instead of in the barn with the other special cars.

Rich,
You need to post those pics on Facebook's Back in the Day Muscle Car Pictures. Great site! Thanks for sharing.

Keith,
Why does your truck have an M-plate on it?

Many of the development vehicles we drive for evaluation purposes have an M plate.

However - in this case - I was just messin' around....

I'am the original owner of a 2001 Dale Earnhardt 'Intimidator' Camaro. Only 84 were built and mine is #38 in the series.

To my knowledge, only myself and 5 other persons are original owners.

Thank you; my only regret is that we didn't take more pictures back then (or that I haven't found any old time slips in the car) ala the 'Tin Soldier' story.
