Any Yenko Chevelle owners, have the code "B1939", on there Build sheet or on the last line of the trim tag? Or COPO Chevelle with "B1795", Please let me know, trying to get a count of how many were ordered, with these specail order numbers.

Default Re: 69 COPO chevelle buildsheet

Most of the cars that I have information on do not show the 1001HA. It is not exclusive to the Monaco orange or Daytona yellow. It shows up with a dusk blue car. All that I have info on are COPO 9566AA 4 speed. Acquaintances claim to have information on 29 of the 30 COPO Chevelles to come into Canada.
V48 - Extra antifreeze, ZK8 - Tire pressure sticker, and ZQ7 - Canadian warranty booklet seem to be standard.
B1796, B1591, B1072, and B1603 show up on different build sheets on the same line as the 1001HA and COPO code. Could be a batch number.
The shipping list info on our car shows G84 for the 4:10 rearend as well as ZN1. ZN1 may refer to the KQ rearend rather than the KK 4:10 rear that comes with the L78 cars.
Our car, along with most others show the PL5 option and we have Uniroyal white lettered F70X14 tires on the SS wheels. One car has the PW7 white wall tire option. Our L78 car also came with the KK reaend and the PW7 white wall tires. I haven't seen anything to differentiate an L78 tire from any other SS396 tire. They were all F70X14.
Now we are really confused?

Keith and Mike, Can you double check the 1001HA numbers? The Dusk Blue (51 51) COPO Chevelle build sheet I have (maybe same one Keith refers to) has 1001AA not 1001HA. It also lists two different size tires on the same build sheet. PL5 F70-14 and P57 735-14. The build sheet on TC listed PY4 F70-14. The Chevy documentation mentions the L78 tire. I wonder if they mean the L78 engine or was the 735-14 tire also called a L78 tire size?
We should compile all this COPO Chevelle info.

The build sheet for my Chevelle, serial #403548, sold by Wagner Chevrolet, Wauseon, Ohio, shows FB1796 two places; in section 60 (SPEC. ORD.) and on the same line as the 9566AA code. I have build sheets for two other cars with one showing FB1072 and the other FB1603.

My car does not have the 1001HA or AA code. One of the other build sheets shows 1001HA and the other 1001AA.

The only big difference between these three cars is the transmission. Mine has an M22 and the other two have M21's. All the other differences are options not related to the drive train. Don't know if this is reason for above code differences or not.

My car has four of the "Z" codes: ZK8, ZN1, ZP8, ZW1. The other two cars have none of the "Z" codes. One of the cars has only the PL5 tire code, while my car and the third car have PL5 and P57 tire codes.

It would be nice if someone could collect all the available build sheet data and make an effort to decipher it. Any volunteers?

REDZ, I know your car, Black on Black, your car, is almost like mine, but yours, I believe is a Bench seat car, and mine is a bucket seat/console, tac/gauges,M22, chamber exhaust car. My car is specail order # FB1795, Fathom Green car, #404108, I also have the same Z-codes as yours. I've been researching these build sheets, for over Five Years. I would be more then glad, to collect all build sheets, and brake it all down. I have most of the Canada COPO, accounted for. Been trying to account for as many as Possible. As of now, I have over 50 COPO Chevelles accounted for and most are still alive, and well. I'll take the task, bring it on. MIKE

JoeC, all the build sheets, I have, are broken down, as you stated. The 1001HA, is on all my Canada COPO's, where as the USA COPO's are 1001AA, make sence? I know of the build sheet, your referring to, and it does cause some confusion, PL5 verses P57, don't know why, good example though.

Marlin, yes, all COPO Chevelle, sent to Canada, did have the same codes, I believe it was madatory. V48=heavy duty Coolant, ZQ7, was for the Canadian warranty booklet(both english&french writing, W84+additional fuel delievery. I beleive the ZV6=M20 four speed, as to ZV7=M21, and ZW1=M22. What I have noticed is, most of the COPO Chevelle's sent to Canada, had the NC8=chamber exhaust, and to think they only had a little over 700 Chevelles, receive this option. MIKE

Stephane send another letter to GM Canada for more Info about the codes ZR3 and ZR8

The guy of GM-Canada on the second letter have changed the Code
ZR3 by The Code ZP3 ???
And the code ZR8 by the Code ZP8 ??? with no explanation

For GM The Code Z in first position = Special ??
For GM The Code R in second Position= Racing ??
For GM The Code P in second Position=Performance ????
For GM The Code W in second Position =?????
For GM The Code Q in second Position= ????
For GM The Code N in second Position=?????
For GM The Code K in second Position=????
For GM The Code L in second Position=Engine????

For GM the CODE L in first Position = Engine Style(LT1-LS5-LS6-LS7-L48 Ect.....)
This is just a theory about the code Z

The Code ZR8 exist in 71/72 For Camaro Z28 Striping
and the code ZR1 exist for a Corvette in 71 or 72 this is a special vette 350 LT1 ( low Production)
and The Code ZR2 exist for a Corvette in 71 or 72 This is a special vette with 454 (very low production)

And for finish the Code LT2 exist This is a code for a 454 Prototype all aluminium built in 1970 for replacing the ZL1

This car Was registery in the supercar registery

Sorry for my english

copo9566aa - Did you find a build sheet in Stephane's car? I have the ZP8 on a build sheet but cannot read the complete discription. It is ZP8 MFG Sxxxxxx and the ZP3 I have seen on a 1970 Chevelle with special paint two dash trim tag. The build sheet reads ZP3 SPECIAL PAINT.

JoeC, the ZP8, is for Manufactor statement of orgin,Fron USA to Canada and the ZP3, is for specail Paint, Daytona Yellow or Monaco Orange. Most of the build sheets, I have, for CANADA, state this. Kind of like today, when selling a car, over seas, it has to have it, to be free of duty taxes or when tranferring it to a individaul, of that country.
