Excellent! You're halfway there!

Here are some pictures of the valve covers. I can not believe they would put the coil right next to the carbs and fuel lines enclosed under the shaker scoop. When did they stop the aluminum intake and go to cast iron. I know the valve covers have been on since the 80s

Yes, those are the Direct Connection valve covers.
In 1970, Chrysler basically just borrowed the Edelbrock casting molds and made them for themselves in iron after the model year started since Edelbrock couldn't keep up with the demand for the popular new 440+6 engine. The switch over was around December...and your car was built December 5, 1969. So the aluminum intake could be original to your car. And yeah, Chrysler really crammed all those components under that shaker next to the carbs. Last edited by njsteve; 10-07-2021 at 05:13 PM.

The painted steel valve covers are the same for 1970 and 71 for 4bbl and 6-bbl. It pretty much depends on whether they have the spark plug wire and wiring harness tabs on them in the right places.
