I am researching that now. Here is a picture of the car published in Competition Press & Autoweek June 19, 1971. This was the car's original paint scheme. Later the car went to red with yellow racing stripes...

I assume you have seen this link. If this is indeed his entire T/A career it would seem he was racing this car just as the heyday of Trans-Am Racing was winding down (Aug. 1971) and the factories pulled out... but that date doesn't square with the pic you have posted above (June 1971). I wonder when he really started...

The "A S" on the fender looks like is for SCCA A Sedan class
he may have run it in A/S and T/A so you may find him in some race results list for SCCA A sedan for some events
