Kurt, the dealer ordered this Burgandy Z28 for stock, Dan actually had a Dusk Blue Z ordered at same dealer, he stopped in to check on his order, this Z had just been unloaded a couple hours earlier, he liked the Burgandy & Red stripes, so he gave a deposit that day and bought this car the very next day.
Their are B T stamps on the firewall, there was never a P stamp, is this possibly because the paint inspector would not approve the red stripes.

The inspector was looking at quality, not color. It is often lightly stamped.

On my Z11 the "P" stamp was actually behind the brake booster bracket and you couldn't see it until you removed the brake unit.

No, I've been working the last 8 days straight, when I'm on days it's 14 hr days. I should be going into the shop tomorrow, starting my week off. PM me to keep reminding me, I have a lot going on right now so it may slip through the cracks unless you keep on me.

Mike..Congrats on the great car. I spoke with the owner when he had it at Vettefest and I had no doubt it came from the factory with those stripes. You should get a notarized statement from him telling about seeing it and buying it. It will help years from now.

I also enjoyed talking to the last owner at the last Vette Fest a few years back, was neat to see this car and talk to him about it's red stripes, I too believe it was built that way. But that's not saying much...
Cool car.

Doesn't the original owner Dan have pictures when he was getting the car in the snow that day from the dealer? I think the stripes were red then wern't they?
