That would be awesome! I know that the guy that I am looking for still lives in Geneva, IL, but I havent had much luck getting him to return my phone calls.

Hult was at 608 east washington ave. That is 100% correct. Thorstad was on park st. That other address is false. zip code is way off. That other one is milwaukee, and might have been humphry, but not hults.

why did your dad put those mud flaps on the car?
to protect the paint?

They did protect the paint, lots of people still lived on dirt roads back then

The flaps did a good job of protecting the area around where they were but if driven a lot on dirt roads the area AROUND got peppered as well ...

My 70 Z28 had them on it when I bought it, I suspect they were added when the car was painted in 76 or so ...

I kept them on because this is what I did with the car at least once a month ...



Here is a picture of what occurs (my L34 Z11, I used that before I got the 70 Z28):



after I painted my car black (from Forest Green), I got the black rubber/vinyl kind:

Believe that is <span style="font-style: italic">Forest</span> Green. The mud flaps were very popular in Ohio. What with studded snow tires, all kinds of things were flung up off the road....including the <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">road</span></span>.
