AS YOU ALL KNOW BY NOW , THIS IS THE SD THAT WAS DRIVEN BY STAN ANTLOCER. I,M NOT SURE ABOUT RETREIVING THE FRONT CLIP FROM FLORIDA,THAT WILL BE THE WINNERS QUEST. HOWEVER HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM. THE PAYMENT METHOD WAS FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES OR PAYPAL AND I CAN,T SEE TRYING TO PULL THIS MUCH MULA OUTTA PAYPAL. SO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER A DUFFLE BAG FULL OF THE GREEN STUFF. THANKS,DALE

A person gets a tip that he has found a needle in a hatstack; and somehow figures his fortune found through the wonder of the internet is not being picked up on by Uncle Sam.
P.S. Now, auction may suddenly end.

Cars are often paid for with cash or other funds, bank transfers or the like. The difference in selling a car on ebay is -$0.00- for a no sale and -$125.00- if the sale completes. It's rare for a seller to take Paypal as full payment when selling a car, especially when Paypal payments can be reversed and leave you with no car and no money. 3% is a lot to pay when someone has to be present to do the transaction, no matter if he delivers it or it gets picked up. Bank transfer is probably the most safe and secure way for both buyer and seller.

I think this seller has a lot of spunk -- hope it works out great for him and the buyer. Look at this latest Q&A

Q: I am thinking I would like to consider paying $500,000 would this end the auction.???? Nov-07-08
A: if you place a bid that high you should own it, but thanks for the offer

I agree. I think the seller is handling it very well, and has a sense of humor without being a wiseguy. He got burned once before by ending an auction early and says he'll never do that again.
The guy in the best position to buy the car is the guy with the original front end because he won't have to BUY the front end after he buys the car. If someone else buys it, I hope the front end makes it's way to the car, rather than it resulting in a tug of war.
In any case, it's probably the most interesting auction I"ve ever watched on ebay to date!

i agree, its been fun watching an undisputed factory racecar go through the gauntlet. ebay has had so many high interest cars result in debacles. its refreshing to see a car go from nearly sliced up to a potential high $ restoration.

Might be cheaper to have a metal master shop make new sheet metal.

I was thinking the same thing Charley. OF course, the original front clip would be the perfect ending, but if the new owner can't get it (for one reason or another) I'm sure he'll have one made. Then what happens to the value of the one in FL??????

It's happened with Z-11s. There are restored cars out there and other people who cling onto the original aluminum for them. But we're jumping the gun with theories.
I hope that once a new owner is known, the principal parties will participate in a web forum to keep the rest of us updated on the progress of this super rare car.
