This is Bob Karakashian's 69 A12 Super Bee. This is an original owner car that is unrestored and has 20K miles. He ran an 11.85 at this event. Back in '86 he won the Muscle Car Shootout sponsored by Muscle Car Review magazine. In the finals he beat Jim Mino's RA II 68 Firebird and earned himself a color feature in the magazine. This car has been raced all of it's life.

This 63 Chevy II was making some test hits between rounds. It has a big block with twin turbos and has a mono leaf rear suspension with 9" slicks. On his first hit off the trailer he went a 4.90 to the 1/8th and then coasted trough the lights. For his send hit he turned it up a bit and had to peddle it, but still ran a 7.75.

On Friday night after the muscle car race Martin had an open Test & Tune so I stuck around to see what showed up. This 93 Grand Prix is powered by a 440ci Oldsmobile engine and is a low 8 second car.

This Cavalier also showed up for the T&T. This was actually an original steel bodied car with a factory dash and door panels. Most of these cars are all fiberglass with tin interiors so this one was kind of cool. I don't know what it had for motivation, but it made a couple of 8 second passes and sounded pretty good.
