Still more great work! Chevrolet could only wish that they could turn out cars as pristine as this one is going to be.

Default Window Reg, Tracks, etc

All the tracks, regulators, and misc hardware at get blasted and cleared, or blasted and re zinc plated. All the hardware im redoing in yellow chromate. Most of the track and regulators where in nice shape. All the rubbing parts get new felt material glued.

Default Anodizing Work

Hey Dave!

Dad and i took a detour on car work. Were getting tired of places going out of business. We had piles of aluminum trim from 66 to 69 chevelles. That said we figured hey lets take everything we have, strip, and prep for anodizing. We are now 6 weeks in and about finished. If had to guess, we are pushing 300hr man hours of work for the pile you see in the pictures. We had some really neat stuff laying around like 4 67 SS griles and tons of eyebrow, side, and rear moldings.

Process is simple, strip the original anodizing with cuastic soda, bead blast lightly and then work the piece down from 180 grit to 500 till you can buff it to a chrome like finish on a buffing wheel. Its similar to stainless work in that you need to remove dents and pits in the pocess. 69 eyebrow molding before and after sanding and buffing in the last picture. There cannot be any scratches larger than about 500 grit or they show in the finished piece

We have also been tied up doing some headliner, interior and engine detailing for an old friends 69 copo camaro.

Looks great - did you do your own anodizing?

Hi Jake,

All the pictures are of pieces that are prepped only. The prep work is probably 90% of the cost for any shop that does anodizing. I probably spend more time working pits and dents out better than some guy that does it as just a way to make money. I have to pack and ship all the pieces up and send them off to McNichols in Michigan.
