The seller just e mailed me, he was evidently e-mailed by someone here...(wonder who? ) and told me this:

"if you do not want it that is OK- No, I am not going to leave negative feedback, that is not my style, I am not trying to cheat anyone here- I am simply selling these things to recoupe my investment-if you think they are fake fine, your loss not mine-I hope you are having fun bashing me on the Supercar--

- thedahmer"

I asked him once again point blank if he made these and/or had them made, and also invited him to join up here to defend himself if we are all incorrect in thinking otherwise.

Yikes...to Jeffrey?.
If anyone picks up at his place, make sure to pass on the homemade stew!!!

Looking at the different fobs it appears like they've been imprinted w/ the various styles after assembly w/ images offset to miss the rivets?.
Wouldn't originals be imprinted on the leather first without rivets installed yet so the result would be the images more centered?.

The design he's selling are not even authentic or vintage to the year some of those dealerships were doing business,IF even in business then too.The Balfour Co.was the original Mfr.of these back then and supplied them to all the dealerships if they wanted them.
Both designs,(Double post on the left & single w/removable key ring on the right),shown below are what Chevrolet issued between 1965-72 and came in both colors shown w/dealer name on opposite side. They would mix up the release of colors from year to year, meaning tan one year, black the next..The page they are sitting on is from the 1970 Chevrolet salesmans Merchandise Catalog.
His keychains on eBay appear to the much earlier 1950's design to me,and stamped much later on after the fact.

I agree with Rick - that style keyholder is not period correct. That style was mid-late fifties.
This is a late fifties Pontiac fob I've had for years. You can see the lack of Zip code ('63) and the
EV prefix on the phone number.
It was originally the same color as the E-bay fobs but I used it for some time. The exposure to grease
and oil darkened it over time.

Well, it doesn't look like Mr. Dahmer is going to be signing up for the sYc anytime soon.

I exchanged about a dozen e-mails with him last night, and he keeps laying it on thicker with every one. I asked him point blank several times, specifically about the COPO one, which IMO is the most blatantly bogus one of them all. Nope, that one's original like all the rest according to him... I also discovered that he buys ALOT of printing stuff on ebay, and asked about that too, but he says he just collects the stuff. I finally just told him I wasn't buying his story and he promptly stopped e-mailing me. I'm sure he's keeping tabs on this thread now, and the invitation still stands for him to join up and tell us we don't know what we're talking about.

At some point isn't it fraud and subject to legal punishment ? Would a local DA be interested in this thread ? Or a local TV station ?

I would think so when a person pays over a 100 dollars for a 5 dollar item that is sold as authentic and it appears it is not and old orginal item.
