I know this isnt a true Corvette site but geez,Ive seen more excitement over a barn find Z with wrong motor,bad paint and no paperwork

I am extremely excited. I'm shocked other closet (and non closet) Corvette guys are not going bonkers either. Could be the colors, motor, lack of photos but come on guys. Put yourself in this guys shoes, if you *found* a Corvette, even a 300 horse coupe/auto, I bet it would get your heart pumping.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say $85k is about market value. I also believe that a 400hp or 435hp car in the exact same situation would bring well into the $125k range. If you really want the car, which it seems like you do, spend the coin and hire an NCRS judge for assistance with the purchase. If nothing more, he will offer the opinion of a man who has spent lots of time on the judging field. Post photos... should be good reference point and learning material!

[/ QUOTE ] Green/Green hands down papers drivetrain survivor (an overused term but sounds real in this case) If it's a 4spd then that's a bonus. BTW survivor cars have original paint IMHO........stepping off soap box now.
