I love the look of the new Challenger, but I'm kind of mystified about the marketing. In April the 2008's will hit the showrooms....all 6.1 Hemi SRT8 automatics in only 3 colors...orange, silver and black with numbered dash plaques. Three months later, the 2009's will be introduced.....more models, more colors and features, plus a 6 speed Tremec option amongst other things. Not sure why anyone would want a 2008 when 90 days later there's so much more to choose from.

Because they could make the early ones any way they want to and people will still stand in line to be the first on the block to have one...then they have "new" colors and features to keep people wanting them after everyone who had to be first already has theirs...same reason they come out with some new special edition Mustang every year. I'd bet GM does the same type of stuff with the Camaro when and if they ever get on the ball and start selling real cars instead of parading the same 3 or 4 show/concept versions around the country for another 2 years. It'll be due for a re-design before the first one ever hits the showroom at the rate they're going.

Guess I think differently. I waited over a year to get the 2007 Shelby GT500 I wanted, so 90 days to get a 'full meal deal' Challenger would be nothing.

I seen an orange Challanger at the Philly car show last week and it is stunning.... Seen the Camaro many times and have to agree. The Challanger looks much nicer..

I totally agree; the Challenger looks great, and Chevy really missed the mark.
Now please, for the love of God, DO NOT put stickers and boy-racer crap all over it, like giant hood scoops and shark teeth, etc., etc.. This is 2008, not 1978 or 1968. I think Chrysler understands that the aftermarket is going to LOVE this car, so they'll hopefully use good-judgment, and keep it clean. |

Here it is is Brilliant Black Pearl Coat ![]() [/ QUOTE ] All I know these cars are finally getting styling where you can tell them apart from a block away---That's how I remember it. That generic styling that the auto industry was shoveling out I was beginning to think the designers were on prozac. ...To me they're taking a step in the direction---Yep even the Camaro(not quite retro, but the heritage is there----IMHO).... |
