Yes COPO69 it was summer 1984. You were not the only one
that passed on the Nova. By the way I am in the process of locating and verifying the first owner of the car. I should no something within the next several weeks. Great to hear from you after all these years and thanks for helping to back up my statement of 1st 69 427 build. |

Hello Marlin,
The original 396/375 was stolen at White Chevrolet. Don purchased the Car as a strip out and then installed the 427 creating his first 427 69 Nova. When I found the car in the fall of 1983 it was missing the motor. I purchased a 427 short block with 12.5 to 1.00 pistons, steel crank. I installed a set of 69 dated square ports, OE solid cam along with a winters cast GM intake. I made several adjustments to the suspension before all that power connected and launched properly. I've owned several Big Block cars, from Chevelles to Camaro's even Corvettes but nothing compares to that Little old Green 69 Nova. |

Wow!! That is very cool history of the car. White Chevrolet was a large volume dealer in Yenko's network. Sounds like a later conversion or the prototype.

Dick Bridges bought the car from Carl Dwiggins in probably 1993-94 or around there. I restored the car again in probably 1995 and it sold to Reggie a few years after that. It then went to a MO collector who sold it with a bunch of other Yenko cars in the last year or so. Great pics, wish we would have had them back then.

Hello Micky,
We all know the story...The Big Fish that got away. Well the 69 Rallye Green Yenko Nova was mine. I found the car purely by accident through a phone conversation with a new customer. I followed up on the call and ended up with the car, a 69 DZ short block along with several 427 BB parts. And the total price was...drum roll please...3K. Regards, Bennett 69yenko427sc#1 |

I, too, had the Big fish that got away;
" but nothing compares to that Little old Green 69 Nova. " I can relate to your statement. What a sick feeling!
