How can the seller have played everyone if the car sold with a buy it now price of $7500? The only person he played was himself.

I agree it's not a lot of money, BUT... what if the tag is not original, and the seller tried to make it look like something it's not?

Hypothetical...I have a 2000.00 camaro, i buy a X44 tag on ebay . I list the car as a driver camaro and dont make a big deal about it in the description , because if i call it a copo the car will get scrutinized and trashed . people bid 7500.00 because they feel they can make a dollar and they found something others didnt know about ..I just sold a 2000.00 car for 7500.00...not saying this happened, but this is how a seller can take a buyer for 7500.00

A rebuildable V8 Camaro 4 speed shell/roller with good title, vin and trim tag, plus misc parts, Including a 12 Bolt Posi Rear, as well as the TransAm 10 bolt posi, in the car is worth the price of addmission.

For the few who follow,track/have followed Copos, this car is not a great leap of faith.

PS. I prefer my Cowl Induction firewall holes. Punched by the factory not drilled.

How about this senario? Seller isn't like everyone on this site, bought that "project" off a neighbor of his because he wanted a 69 Camaro, bought parts for it for a few years, decided it was too big a project for him, and sold it on ebay for what he thought it was worth.

Not everyone in the world is a #'s expert

Chuck X44 cars are not that rare and either are X11 cars. These guys are just pointing out that a piercing in the firewall that would indicated a ZL2 hood on a X44 car is suspicious. If it was a X11 car it would lean more towards a SS350 car but a X44 base car with that hood only means one thing.

Look closely at the picture of the firewall. Way down at the bottom left (as your looking at it) of the transmission tunnel opening is a small clip. Thats very likely the muncie transmission cable clip. Look at the speedometer cable hole in the right side of the transmission tunnel, its not round like someone would have drilled it, its more oblong, the way the factory did it.

You can't just slap an X44 (or X11) tag on a car and add a cowl hood an muncie transmission and make it a COPO. Theres more to it that that. Someone got a real good deal. I bet hes (shes) getting all kinds of calls and emails offering to double or triple what he paid for it sight unseen. If you had it, and beleived it was a COPO or more importantly other people beleived it was how much would you sell it for?

Now that would be neat. I would suspect Ed C would know or could have certified the car based on that additional info if that is true.

The guy that bought it also bought a set of XT wheels on Ebay a few months back for a $1000...I bet he knows what he's has got or was willing to gamble that it is a COPO. Worse case is it is a plain jane camaro with alotta parts, it is still worth what he paid for it.
