Richard 'Moe' Nixon also signed into law the EPA, OSHA and affirmative action laws. I'm not sure who is more damnable for the current PC crisis we find ourselves in, Nixon or LBJ.
I'm not a Rep., but a conservative who believes we should either live according to our US constitution or throw it out and be done with it. I don't think the govt. has the right or legal responsibility to take from one person and give to another regardless of the emotional argument involved. Bush did not have the right to give 9/11 victims (?) hundreds of millions of dollars of stolen money any more than he had the right to give MN an unconstitutional, yet emotionally satisfying $30 million. The shredding of our constitution has led to politicians, all of them, regarding our stolen money as theirs. Theirs to buy votes, garner goodwill, keep power and do with as they please. They seem to resent letting us keep any of our earnings. Earmarks, pork, whatever you call it is out of control. A man who doesn't respect what you have EARNED does not respect you in any way. Our elected tyrants have no respect whatsoever for their subjects. And I, for one, am sick of all of them. |

Ray, how's this for a modest proposal:
Replace illegal workers with non-violent low- or medium security convict labor. We spend a redicules sum of money to keep people incarcerated for things like white collar crime, drug use, prostitution, etc. Let them earn their keep doing the jobs that only the illegals will do, so they can "Pay" their debt to society. Think about that. ![]()

Here's another example........We have been going to Jamaica for many years......In the Early years , the Island was a "Filthy" paradise........there was Garbage all over the place.......Now......here was a Third World Country with no "Entitlements" (Welfare).......Actually they have a very good work Ethic and Values there.....So....What the Government did was to set up a system to where people were assigned a certain area to maintain and keep clean.....They were now given money to live on , "But"....they had to perform a "Service"........Now,After this system has been in place for 10 years, you no longer see any Garbage laying around........the whole mindset has changed to when there is minimal litter....The Cities and surrounding areas are very clean..............But ......More Importantly....If someone litters and the cleaning person see's it, they get right in the Litterer's face and give them "Hell" for messing up "Their" area........It's like a competition to see who can do the best job ..........See.....It's pretty simple........Logic and Common Sense........There's plenty for the "Welfare" people to do in our Country for them to "Earn" their money that we give them.......The "Problem" is the over the years......The "Privelge" of receiving a subsidy has now become a "Right"........We need to go Back to Basic's.........If they can do it very well in a third world counrty..........We "Might" even be able to do it here........$.02.....

Lets run this up the flag pole and see who salutes.
During the depression, when no one had a job, the CCC and a couple of other govermental groups were put together to help try to put the country back on its feet. In the area where I grew up, a lot of the bridges and county buildings were put together during this time. A lot of stone work, like the cemetary wall in Independence, Ks that probably stretches for 2 miles, is still there and standing. A lot of repair work/ replacement of these structures is needed and the counties are having to heap a large burden of taxes onto the people that actually pay their taxes. How about we get some of these people that can't find a job, put a shovel in their hand and get them to break a sweat! It would be amazing what could be done if they actually had to work for the money they get (those that are physically able to work). ![]()

Here's a real life one for ya.
I own a computer company, and make a nice salary. But, we still watch what we spend, and cut where we can and save for travel, kids education etc. When Hurricane Katrina hit and we wound up first in little rock and then houston, I really thought we lost it all. No New Orleans meant no more computer company. Most of my employees found new jobs in the towns they evacuated to. In short, we were offered food stamps, which I at first declined as we had savings and I was doing some tech work still. Then I thought about how much I pay in taxes, and said finally, shoot yea, give em too me. As a family of four, we got so much in food stamps that we could NOT spend it all every month, even if we bought name brand everything! We only took em for two months as by then I started getting calls from customers who wanted to come back to New Orleans and realized that at least 50% of my customers and employees would be coming back. At the end of the two months, we told the state that we no longer needed the food stamp system. We still had hundreds left on the credit card thing unspent, and they said we HAD to spend it, it could not be returned. We went out and bought steak every night just to get rid of the money on the card! No wonder some people on food stamps "trade" em for crack. There's no way you can spend all that every month. They eat better than we do.........

Rich, That is a fact. I used to get (and still am) extremely pissed off years ago when I first started in Law Enforcement as a Corrections Officer. I lived with my parents at home while earning only $6.33 an hour. I soon realized that damn near everyone in jail had a hell of a nest egg saved up for when they got out of jail due to relatives and/or friends saving their welfare and "crazy" checks (mental disability) for them to blow when hey got out of jail. These p.o.s. made more freakin' money than I did doing nothing. I'm not even going to go into the supplemental earnings the inmates had for illegal activities.

Isn't it bad enough that their incarceration already cost us a fortune? We didn't break the law, they did. Make 'em pay and make the experience unforgetable....in a real bad way. While we're at it let's make our God-like tyrants live with the same Social Security program we have to live and die with. Let's face it we are a pus**fied nation compared to our forefathers, and even our own fathers. I am seriously concerned about what will happen when the next attack comes. We know there are suitcase nukes in the country and more on the way. When our future tyrants can focus on an attack rather than a defense what is to stop them from detonating a dozen or so well placed nukes? We know an attack is coming, what we don't know is what condition will our pus**fied nation find itself in when the 'dust' settles? |
