Well, I spoke the people at Ramos Plating today and was told that if they ground down the pits on the valve covers that they would have hit the spot welds for the drippers.Apparently they are now not taking in anymore valve covers to chrome.I may try somewhere else before I look at the Crane pieces.

Paul's Chrome quoted me an initial price of $350.00 per cover. They said that they can fix any pitting etc... and still leave the factory spot welding dimples. So the question is spend $700.00 or more to get the originals fixed or spend $450.00 for the Crane pieces????

And doesn't Crane's sell singles? That could make the price even more attractive if like me, many of your sets have one pretty good one and one that you dinged on the master cylinder getting the motor out. Back then I didn't worry, because replacements were only $25 at the dealer. Back then, I also didn't understand the slight differences between years and applications.

Rick, I bought the covers I pictured above on EBAY and had a contact plate them. They have some small imperfections and may not be acceptable to you or a customer. I currently have another set of 70 Covers (ONE year only) out being plated locally, but am doubtful there also.......
Does anyone here know IF the Crane covers has ALL the 1970 Clips and correct wire stand shapes or just some...????????

Chuck, Id' call Crane if I were you at 800 -597-4132. I'm sure that they'd be able to answer your questions. They are on the west coast in San Diego

Is there a site one could visit to see the different styles and what they are for since they were not smart enough to label any when they were stashed 20-25 years ago.

I have a driver side one that looks like the one in the pic. Has one minor ding about 1/8" dia. Has the same wire loom towers and temp wire clip. I also have several pass side ones, but I don't know what to look for to see if they are correct for 70. $125 for a pair. I have had problems trying to download pics, but if you are interested PM me and I'll try again.
