Ah, got it. I can see how you might make that association. I only meant that he's apparently flipped a few. Mine is Cortez Silver, has GM Canada docs and owner history back to 1972. Still searching for that elusive original owner! The car was sold originally in Toronto, then went to Thunder Bay with the second owner where it stayed until finding it's way back to Toronto in 1999.

Hey Kevin, Does your LS6 Chevelle have the original motor and tranny? [/ QUOTE ] Original VIN stamped M22. Motor was replaced under warranty in '73 with a correct CE LS6. The car was in the hands of the second owner at that time. According to him it was burning oil, the dealer wanted to rebuild it but he demanded a new motor. Apparently they were able to find one. It came with a 5yr/50,000mi. warranty if you can believe that! He probably thought he got a great deal at the time! It must have been strong because it ran 12.8 second quarter miles at Minnesota Dragway in '74-'75.

Hi: in 1978 I looked at buying that LS6 Silver Chevelle, instead I purchased a 1969 gold Copo Camaro. These 2 cars raced at Jane and Finch (Toronto). I was told that the Camaro lost because the Chevelle was running slicks.

SilverLS6 - I am glad to see all the work I put into gathering the history along with the testimonials were passed on after I sold it. The car bounced around a bit in Thunder Bay during it's hey day. The one unique fact I found very interesting was that it seemed to be sold whenever the current owner at that time had a piece of property that he wanted to purchase. It's not the first time we have all seen "Must sell, buying a house".
In regards to the motor, it should be a good working piece, I spent a full day with it on the dyno after I had it rebuilt. |

Sounds like an excuse as to the reason the Camaro lost. ![]()

Kevin,
I like how you are trying to document as much history as possible about the car. That's the secret to developing pedigree. To me, it is what makes a car more desireable and legit.
