Only Jim knows what really happened that day ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Keith, I agree with this statement from the post above your last one in which you spoke with Jims brother. No one has to come to this fourm to back anything a family member had happen to them. He is more than welcome to come post and tell his stories about Jungle Jim and share any pics of Jims race cars though.

I agree with Jeff's thoughts. Also, it's refreshing to hear the 'intentional' rumour put to rest.

Going back to the original question asked here... Jungle Jim's brother has indicated this previously:
"Steve Kanuaka built the car for match racing and it had fiber glass front end it also ran with 2-4brl carbs. Dutch Ergang worked for Steve in the shop and also was a head grinder for Jenkins. The car did not last to long because Steve lost insterest in it as far as I know the car is still in existence" He went on to say that he was not sure that he wanted to see the Camaro running as it looked when JJ ran it. No pretty uniforms but JJ was a real showman. JJ gave the fans what they really came to see; the most popular funny car on the match race circuit. Greg Steich of Pottstown PA was also a JJ fan.
