Both of the nuts pictured are stainless steel capped. I would bet Yenko bought chrome ones from the tire shop across the street, and wasn't buying them through GM.

While I can't say I've ever seen a Motorwheel cap with spring clips, I would guess that Motorwheel was actually manufacturing the caps for GM, as they also made the SS wheels, so Motorwheel probably revised the "standard" magnum 500 Bullet caps at the same time the ones they were making for GM were revised. Honestly, thats just a guess though.

I know one thing bad about those lug nuts with the shell on them. If you use a impact to remove them they will split and then you have a smaller metric size nut to have to get off.

I have thrown a bunch of them that were damaged away that split on me.

That's what I was afraid on the nuts Joe, but was hoping that the high crown one was a chromie - bummer! I'm back to thinkin that Don got aftermarket lugs locally.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good! I have a picture of an original owner Yenko Deuce where he replaced one of the 20 lugnuts with the stainless steel capped version. I had a pic of it, showing the correct chrome original on the left, and the capped version on the right.
