Yeah but the new "Eleanor" cars have all been signed and authorized by Carroll Shelby himself... now if the seller could produce some similar documentation from Don Yenko... Besides, Shelby Mustangs (even clones) have always commanded more money than Camaros.

Let's face it, the reason everyone is questioning this car is because a super clean big block Camaro (minus matching motor) is worth what... $30-35K? Tops? So if the Yenko Can-Am motor is worth say $20-25K, how the heck does that add up $125K plus?

I would much rather have the Yellow "ZL-1" Camaro Charley sold last year. At least it was unique.

A car is worth what somene is willing to pay so can we please stop telling a potential buyer he is paying too much ? These are crazy times. Remember the yellow Z28 with added brakes and a aftermarket crossram that sold for 112k ? Then another Z28 with aftermarket crossram that sold for 110K ? #'s matching might be important to us but that does not mean that it is to evertyone else. My ZL1 clone had over 100K spent on it but I had people telling me they could build the same car for less than 50K. When this was a small site it probably did not matter if a car was critized here in the forums because only a few of us saw it but it now seems that the site has alot of readers and what it said here really can make a difference so can we please think about what we say before we say it ?......LOL..Stuart does have the ZL1 Clone and is still throwing money at it....

Don't get me wrong Charley, I totally agree with the idea a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. However, I also can see why several of our regular members would question such money for what is merely a "nice" car.

Reality 101... the collector car market has gotten so crazy that people have stooped to several dishonest practices from shill bidding on eBay to trying to pass of clones as the real thing. As collectors and enthusiasts it is our right to question everything until proven otherwise. Unlike the court of law, in the court of collector cars its guilty until proven innocent (or proven by documentation). Thus explains why so many of us are skeptical of every "sweet" deal that comes down the pipe. We might not get all the great bargins others get by being skeptical; however we also get crapped-on far less.

I'm not saying Mav, or the seller fit into this category. However as some of us don't know either gentleman, one should expect naysayers to be skeptical, or at the least voice their opinions.

I would also add that what info and or crititizsm they get here is worth big $$$ to a "smart investor" of special interest cars. I sure hope those involved and or potential buyers, will use the negatives expressed on here to their advantage. I am sure that none are meant to denigrate the posters involved.

The total sum of the knowledge of the members on here are something, I feel that is one of the main reasons that they take the time to look in on us and our posts.

I know I relied on what was available about the L-78 Nova I purchaced lately. I feel I paid about $4 grand more for it than I should but how often do you get a chance to pick up a 7,000 mi '69 model car?

I took advantage of the good and the bad with out letting it anger me but most importantly I used what I could learn on here as a "Tool" to add to my own knowledge and it did help make the decision easier for me to make the purchase before someone on here beat me to it.

Good luck to those involved with this car. Please come back and share what you find out about it. Good or Bad. I know I sure would like to have that motor...!!!

I am the guy who seems to have created all of the problems,i never dreamed this car would have created this much fuss,i was not a member before but having owned as many muscle cars in the past i can see i should have been. The gentleman who posted lastnite about the pix of the engine compartment was correct about the red on the inside of the fender , when i saw the posting this morning i came to my office and pulled the brace off and saw the red primer where the brace had rubbed the paint.I never saw it before my techs put it back together. As far as the 4 spd.i dont believe that is correct. In any event it doesnt really matter, i was selling it to buy an old 66 Lamborghini but it sold on Friday.I have now pulled it from Ebay and decided to keep it , after all i built it because i was in love with this idea since i aquired the engine about 4 years ago.It actually is a beautifull car without a tape line in any door jam or trunk or engine compartment. If you are ever in Dallas you would be welcome to come and see it. It sits inside at Lamborghini Dalas. If anyone has the gentlemans # who drove about 70 miles to look at it , i could use it to let him know.Hopefully he will be watching .By the way i would like to have back the 67 mustang he bought a few years back , it is a killer.
