Hi, the carousel red was a standard color, used 69. I've seen it on: 68/9 gtos & birds, would assume special early order. In 69 standard on judge, extra cost on bird. <font color="yellow"> </font>

I never said it was not a Bird-only color. All I am saying is that dashes don't specify non-Pontiac color. Their meaning is more encompassing, having to do with 1) colors in the palette that was not offered on a respective car, like yellow on the GTO, 2) a color not available as an RPO, and 3) I know evidence that sometimes they used it for some RPO colors, but I don't know why.
Also, there are a whole bunch of Carousel Red GTOs out there. They were not Judges but standard GTOs. |

This is getting kind of confusing, here I thought I had a special car? with a special paint color? I know I've never seen another, espec. a raiv. Yes, there were some GTO & birds both 68/9 in carousel red. Also in 76 they made TAs in that color again.

I think it has something to do with the new car order process or paperwork. The SS Chevelle in Monaco Orange or Daytona Yellow got the 72 or 76 code but a non SS Chevelle in same colors got the dash.

Don't let anybody kid you. You have a VERY special car, regardless of color.

Goldenrod Yellow was an RPO for the Firebird in 1969. It is not a special-order color. Maybe optional, but not special.

HI, thank you, think it is quite special. The "special" paint(Daytona/Goldenrod/Saturn/Sebring) or whatever anyone wants to call it, makes it a unique car. The RAIV, & orig. cond. w/all options is nice too. Thanks again!!

HI, goldenrod yellow was on paint list for bird, avail. @ extra cost. It would have a paint code on dataplate. I'm just tring to fig. out what your thought is on mine. My data plate has 2 dashes, you say it is not special order? When I got my PHS, it does have an * for paint color.
Do you have any pontiacs>? |
