I purchased the yellow/black 427/390 horse four speed convertible car. It has the window sticker, tank sticker, POP, dealer sales invoice and is Bloomington Gold, Bloomington Survivor and Bloomington Benchmark car.

Sounds like a great piece. I love to see original Vettes. Brings me back to the day I found my Corvette. Just sitting in a showroom after being stored for 25 years. Don't let the NCRS judges get to you! I have a friend owns a 1981 Corvette. He bought the car from the original owner with only 2200 miles. The original tires were still on the car. The only bad thing was the car was stored outside its whole life. He did a frame off restoration after a 3 star Bow-Tie. Turns out in 1981 the paint for the Corvette was the worst paint ever in its history. NCRS show after show he gets MAJOR points taken off being the car is 'Too Shiny.' Makes me laugh every time!

Mark,

I am sorry but because of my COPO Camaro chase I am going to have to let this one go. Good luck selling it! Let us know where she ends up.

We just had a great NCRS event at Waco last weekend and I was lucky enough to judge the chassis on all 15 1967 Corvettes. The chassis included the frame, front and rear suspension, the master cylinder, radiator and radiator support, under hood and inner fenders. I know that we did make some deductions on some of these items being to glossy.
There were some amazing cars presented for judging and I recall one in particular that had the bottom of the hood painted in a gloss black, semi gloss is correct.
These point deductions are minor, we made a one point deduction for the glossy paint, this is out of 4,500 points. I know that NCRS would not make a deduction for something being too clean, too glossy, yes. There is a catagory at the end of the sheet for overall cleanliness and the only time there is a deduction is if there is dirt or grease. Don't be discouraged by one event, bring your car back for many judgings. It really takes about five events to really get an accurate feel for your car.

Under the hood of the Corvette, for 1965-66-67 corvettes, there is a strip of paint on the edge of the hood that should be body color. Well, when my Corvette was repainted the painter made that line 'Too Straight' so I got points off. I got 30+ off on the engine comparment, but ONLY 13 off on the interior. We kept everything original. Seats, dash, seat belts, gagues, teak wood wheel, floor mats - the only thing that needed replacement was the headliner and carpets.

Mark, If the car does not sell here try the NCRS Driveline.

I have been to a lot of shows and even judge a few But when it come to corvettes people
Seem to get a little nuts I seen guy pull up in a closed trailer and then push the car off because he did not what to start it up I ask guy why and he said he did not what the tail pipes getting dirty??? (now thats nuts)some take judging way to seriously I feel if you cant drive it what good is it just to look at I can not see going nuts trying for the perfect car because there will all ways be some one that will pull it a part
Dan like you said about the paint on the hood no mater how hard you try when it come to Corvettes there are no perfect cars

Mark,

Perhaps you should list your car on E-Bay. Check out the following site:
