I drive a 2002 Z06 Corvette around nearly every day and I have Car # 60 coming from Matt. I plan to drive it too, and fast and hard.I bracket race now with my 70 1/2 Camaro 355 small block and I will have my new ZL1 at the track to, I am 51 and in 30 years I won't care anyway. But however I seldom drive my Yenko's though, OK Peter, let me have it for sitting on them.Your feature car is quite a car, I am jealous!!!!

Souperhigh, congrats on your cars and enjoying them! I am rapidly approaching the big 50 (Jan) and I love cars new and old, I only hope I can have as much fun as you seem to. A side effect of my profession is that I get bored with cars fast. I have had Porsches, Corvettes, TAs, Z28s and many more but the most fun I have ever had was with these muscle cars of yesteryear. Growing up in the era has given me a special appreciation that some don't understand. I am trying to pass that on to my sons but I am not sure they can really grasp it. By the same token tho, the two oldest are fighting over who will get Dad's Camaro. Maybe I am getting thru to them?

We certainly grew up in the right era, getting to enjoy the greatest cars while we were young and crazy.Thank God for Hagerty Insurance, my son can't drive my older muscle cars until he is 25, which is approaching to fast. He keeps my 68 GT500 KR in perfect shape, the only Ford car I own out of many neat cars. However I use a Ford 350 Powerstroke to pull my trailers.

I think they are all spoken for and they aren't going to do more than 69. There may be some Dealers that have bought them though and I don't know what their intentions are, maybe they have them sold to Customers or maybe they will put them up for sale once they have them. Berger and GMMG are also doing the Hotrod Magazine cars and I know Berger still has a few left available. They commemorate 35 years of Camaro's and have numbered them 1967-2002. Dennis Barker at Berger managed to get 1967 for his Wife, beautiful car. Black with Red Hockey Stick and red Leather interior. They come stock with 380 hp but hers was done as a 435 hp. They even have new Chrome Crager SS wheels. I think the starting price for them is 39,500.00. Go to gmmginc.net and look at the hot rod car...Cool car. If I didn't already have a ZL1 I would own one of those.

Do they let you chose your own wheels? I read the new Mustang Cobra uses an updated versions of the classic "Magnum 500" five-spoke wheels. These look similar to the old 69-70 SS wheels but I don't know if they make them in a Chevy bolt pattern. May look good on a 2002 SS/ZL1 Camaro to.

The Base ZL1 comes with Corvette ZO6 wheels and Brakes. Porterfields # 1 car came with Cragers. I'm sure they will put just about anything you want on it within reason. Or if it looks too stupid they just might say NO.

Brian and Charley, your replies make alot of sense! Thats what I get for jumping to conclusions! I don't think I made myself clear on the 1969 colors. I just thought that only ONE of each of the 1969 colors be produced to make them unique against the others. I understand Matt has a business to run, and this probably wasn't feasible. He is doing an outstanding job with this project, from the website, to the correspondence with his customers. I plan on visiting his shop in the next 3 weeks. Charley you are right about the hotrod car. I parked next to it in Monmouth. I agree, I would own one if not for the ZL-1 cars. My car is silver with not only the ZL-1 striping, but the hockey stripes also, and new cragars. Can't wait to see the #3 car at the reunion! What a pair!

Charley:
Could you divulge which owners of '69 ZL-1s got the '02 versions? |

I'm glad they didn't limit 69 colors to just 8 or 10 as it would be cheating the others of the opportunity. As for owners, I don't have any list..Holub # 2? Lillard # 3, Christenholz # 5 ? Porterfield # 1, Hand # ?, Suydam # ?, Stuber # 65 ?, Christiansen # ?, Barnhart # ?
