I got my first bike at 15. Been riding ever since. I went 1 year without a bike. I sold the Honda I had, to get married. Should have kept the bike and rode on into the sunset. Anyway, 53 years later, and still riding. Bought the current bike new in 2000. We didn't ride it much while our son was growing up, as he was 4 when I brought it home. It now has about 11,000 miles. Like others, we avoid freeways and high density roads.
It was Black when new, but we had an Aqua Pearl '95 before this and my wife is Aqua Girl, so a few years ago, I bought used sheet metal and had them painted the same color.

Pinstriping is applied by hand by a local young guy. He does some really nice work.

Here's my 2016 Harley Sportster 1200, it's called a '48 because of the vintage look. I don't ride like I used to, this one barely gets to the main road five miles away.

I know what you mean about not riding much...I am buying my friend's 65 Panhead just as soon as he decides to let it go, so I bought this 2000 Fat Boy with Factory custom paint etc. last April to by my rider until the 65 is mine. It had 90 original miles on it when I got it and it has a whopping 150 miles now!

I'm in Homosassa, FL now too, but I bought a car down here, so dragged the trailer down to bring it home. Next year, it will be the HD in an enclosed..

You are about 20 miles from me then. I am in Dunnellon, off C39. Built my place on 33 acres down here a few years ago. I ran my own independent Harley shop for close to 45 years in Michigan. Made a good living. At one time, I owned 22 up and running Harley's. I've owned every model they made from 1937 to 1998. All I have now are two 1998 Road Kings. The one in Michigan has a 110" S&S engine in it, the one down here is basically stock with a few engine mods. Old bones have slowed down my riding time considerably.

We went thru Dunnellon a few days ago. I was down here ab out 2 years ago and had a price all worked out on a nice double wide on 5 acres with a NICE garage/workshop just south/east of Dunnellon and the wife put the cabosh on it at the last minute. We were, also, looking to relocate from our Stillwater, MN home after 19 years and she was afraid we wouldn't be able to do that if we bought the FL place. 1 month later, we signed the contract on our River Falls home.

We looked at a decent home on 1 acre in Lecanto on Sunday, but it needs too much work to warrant the inflated prices right now, so we passed. She hadn't been to this area of FL before and is now getting on board to find a way to spend some of the winter down here... It was 22 degrees below zero last Friday, when she flew out of MSP and 74 degrees when I picked her up at Tampa Int.
