Yes you are right... Everybody here likely knows what VIN means.

I used it in context the same way as historically GM used it (#) as an identifier for the dealers or alternately called it the "serial number" at the assembly level.

Agreed.
Just let the car be what it is, and let it sell on its own merits.
It's not like you're buying Jon Voight's LeBaron, right?

And I also agree on the vin terminology. It is one of my pet peeves to refer to the "vehicle identification numer number".
