Mecum says car comes with original bill of sale. If it isn't from Belmont Chev Olds and sold by Dave Mackay to Charles DiSilva then this car is not the one I sold. The DiSilva car blew up at Cayuga Dragway early in it's life and as I stated earlier he replaced it with a 454.

I quit this site and a few others some time ago because of self-appointed know-it-alls who were NOT THERE presuming to tell those few of us left WHO WERE THERE what is right or wrong about these old puppies. Thus I will say this one more time, in addition to making a slight clarification:

This car cannot have its original born-with block in it. The born-with block was destroyed when the rods came through the sides. The block had windows. It could not be repaired. I know. I was there. I saw the engine. I was consulted on whether it should be warranteed or not.

I would be more than happy to testify to this under oath in a Court of Law. Moreover, any individual wishing to formally dispute this is more than welcome to file suit against me and have all revealed in the Courts. Please do. There has been far too much deliberate, knowing fraud with these cars. It needs to stop.

Dave Mackay and I together ran the High Performance Division of Belmont Chev-Olds in Toronto. Davey has been one of my closest friends for most of our lives, in fact for years prior to our involvement with Belmont. We still talk frequently. Dave Mackay has as much principle, integrity, and conscience as anybody I know. I damn well wish more did. As stated above in a previous post, Belmont was the largest volume new car dealer in Canada, of any brand, and one of the largest and most successful in North America. We moved a lot of muscle. We kept meticulous records. They may still exist. I'm working on it. I already have original sales files for Gorries Chev-Olds and Golden Mile Chev-Olds from 1953 up into the 1990s.

For some reason I thought this was the Willard Clements COPO. Davey says Willard's was another car and I accept the clarification. Davey wrote up the order and most likely signed off on the Bill of Sale, although on occasion that could also be me or the Sales Manager. Davey would know.

That is the full extent of what I have to say on this subject, or any other, for that matter. I will not be back.

Midyr...Here is your earlier quote:

This car has not [/b]had its original motor since a few months after delivery. Willard had it towed in to Belmont on a chain with lettering still on the windows from flogging it at Cayuga Dragway. There were windows in the block too, from rods coming through. We said no way for warranty Willard. So he ordered up a replacement. The car was used hard for as long as Willard had it. Another thing, if it went 11s at Indy, it must have been dropped from an airplane. Where do the claimed numbers on these cars come from???"

So now are you saying there are two copo's that windowed their blocks ? You were pretty adamant about how Willard continued to use it hard for as long as he owned it. You speak that as if you knew Willard. Are you sure the car at auction is the one Willard owned ? Now I'm getting really confused.

There were two copo's sold that were green, if we had vin#s of both those cars it would be easier to figure out that this is or is not that car.

----Roger,,,Are you saying 2 with green interior? Because it sounds like you are talking about two green painted cars which arent part of this thread. Just a clarification.....Bill S

Sounds to me like the car midyr has been referring to isn't even the same car as the one going to auction, but instead a different car the same dealership sold. If that's the case this needs to be clarified here and now.

People need to be sure they know what car they are talking about before deciding to drag it through the mud.
