The fake braided line hits especially close to home for me because my Nova had it EVERYWHERE when I bought it. That and the Weld Draglites were the first things to go, followed closely by the blue anodized T-bolts on the valve covers.

We used to put the fake braided covering on to pass NHRA tech because you couldn't have more than 12 inches of exposed rubber hose. Couldn't afford the real braided stuff with the fittings ($$$).

For a true Day 3 car, don't forget a couple gallons of Armor-all! Yuck.

I grew up in the 80s around drag racing, and must have items for a "day 3" drag car...(my dads chevelle had most, if not all of these on at one time of the other)
-moroso valve covers with matching T bars, moroso blue max wires, centerline auto drags, Auto Meter Monster tach, (no shift light, just an orange adjustable pointer.)B&M quick Click shifter with no reverse lockout. thats all i can think of for now.
