Looking forward to the restoration. Off to a good start. The only way to learn is to do it yourself.

Well, Weathers has been bad. But here is a query:

This came with the car but is too small for the back seat.

Can anyone identify this lower rear seat?

When I googled 3520616 I came up with a Mopar??????

Possibly a 1971 Challenger/Barracuda as the seat tag has 1751 which according to the links, that would be 175th day of 1971.

Hello,

Well between Tyler's School, new job, and the holidays he did have not much time for the Chevelle. He called and said he had a three day week end and was going to make some progress.

Here is the start:

Trying to see how many coats of paint we on the car.

Look like several!

Trying to see if the trunk gutters were salvageable.

Looks like they are.

Now on to see what the tail pan looks like.

Bumper has to come off first:

Bumper shims.

The wire harness was held on with this clip on the drivers side. The other side did not have the clip.

Here is where the clip attached:

Tail lights from the back:

Where the other round clip should go.

Bumper off with only a little fighting on one bolt.

Original paint on the tail pan and the rear light harness. He is not too crazy about the paint. He is thinking Cortez Silver or Shadow Gray......

Note the hard mask line is that factory?

Is that black out like that from the factory?

Where the rear valence / tail pan attaches

Rubber gasket and nut.

Close up of the gasket.

The other one:

Looks like the nut a gasket were on before the tail pan was painted. Here is what it looked like under it:

Incorrect hinge bolts.

Trunk latch and deck lid look original. The lock opening looks messed up. Not sure if that could be fixed. Pic was blurry so didn't post it.

Here is the rear completely disassembled. Looks like the part behind the trunk catch is salvageable. Just need a complete trunk pan from AMD.

one marked light was still installed. The other in the pile of parts.

This should clean up and be re-useable.
