Re: 1972 Chevelle SS Conv Big Block
It shows the Delivery address to "Chevrolet Motor Div GMC", 83 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, MO. My father worked almost directly across the street at the Coca-Cola plant in 1972 and doesn't recall any kind of car dealership there. Just really curious. By the way, great car and the end of an era. I've always wondered if there was a rush to the dealerships in late 1972 to purchase whatever '72's were still left when the ugly, new '73's were introduced to the public?!

[ QUOTE ]
Dan Carr's poster 'guesstimates' that 20 1972 Chevelle SS convertibles w/ 402, T400, and Cowl Induction were produced. Even if that's off by a factor of 3 or 4, it's still a rare bird. [/ QUOTE ] . . . but it's still an estimate, so the rarity can't be determined. |

Re: 1972 Chevelle SS Conv Big Block
I'm reasonably sure that this car was possibly delivered to somewhere besides a new car dealership and was possibly intended for an executive to drive or maybe even a dealer show car or something. It's something certain;y worth investigating.

In the lower left corner the name "JB MILTON" appears, any idea on a J Milton from the Florissant area? |
